At his meeting with journalists following the congress, Chairman of the Free Democrats party Khachatur Kokobelyan explained why representatives of Armenia’s ruling coalition had not been invited to the congress.

As regards the present of Vartan Oskanian, who recently joined the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), which is part of Armenia’s ruling coalition, Ararat Zurabyan, a member of the Free Democrats party, said: “Vartan Oskanian’s being invited does not absolve him of the responsibility for the March 1 events.”

With respect to the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), Kokobelyan said that he respects the ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan. However, inviting him would be “mere formality.”
