Armenia=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s FM attends Bonn conference on Afghanistan

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian attended Monday a world conference dedicated to Afghanistan held in Bonn.

According to a Foreign Minsitry press release, in his speech Nalbandian said the “impressive representation at the conference is suggestive of the fact that geographic distance is not essential for all our countries, when there is the task of strengthening security and stability in Afghanistan”.

“Armenia is bringing his own participation in joint efforts to help Afghanistan establish peace,” said Nalbandian, adding that the effort is aimed at preventing “the destructive activities of terrorist forces”.

Armenia has a small contingent of peacekeepers in Afganistan.

Further, Armenia’s top diplomat said that there has been some progress in establishing a new level of security.
