Armenian vice-premier meets with IOM regional director

le=”text-align: justify;”>Armenian Vice-Premier, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan received Dec. 8 Regional Director, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Renate Held.

The sides discussed cooperation in migration. Minister Gevorgyan noted the Armenian government has focused its attention on the problem. In this context, he welcomed cooperation with the IOM. Minister Gevorgyan stressed the IOM’s contribution to the reforms the Armenian government is implementing in migration management. Specifically, it is a system of biometric passports and identity cards. Minister Gevorgyan also stressed that Armenia is actively involved in all the international initiatives aimed at resolving major migration problems.
